RE:  A Couple of Reminders: HCPD Community Forum and LBI Health Dept.

I wanted to remind everyone that next Wednesday, October 26th at 5:00 at Borough Hall will be the next HCPD Community Forum, featuring Detective Tim Butler.  Detective Butler will be presenting crime prevention, scams, investigations and more. In addition to detailing the role of a detective within the HCPD, Detective Butler will cover such topics as Senior Financial Abuse and other scams, home security systems, burglary prevention tips, vehicle theft prevention tips, and more. Mark your calendar!

Also, at the Borough meeting on October 7th, we had a great presentation from Bob Schuster of the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) regarding the dead fish in our coves this summer. He was able to present the “why” of why this happened (basically: water too warm; oxygen level too low). For those who could not attend, I have attached a copy of his presentation below (a great suggestion I got from a resident ).

However, as there were outstanding questions about any health implications from the dead fish, I have invited Dan Krupinski, the head of the LBI Health Department to attend the first Borough meeting in November - Friday, Nov. 4th at 4:30 to discuss any health concerns regarding the fish kill and answer all questions.

Thank You, John
