Department of Public Works & Public Property - Commissioner/Mayor Jonathan Oldham

The entire Public Works Department would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Cold days and even colder nights are coming, please remember to winterize your home if you have not done so already!

We’re currently working on fixing up the exterior of Borough Hall.  The building is getting some much-needed attention.

Congratulations to our Zoning Officer Ceci Morillo!  Cecilia recently successfully completed all three Rutgers Center for Government Services Zoning Courses and has received her Official Zoning Officer Certification.

Department of Revenue & Finance – Commissioner Paul Rice

The finance department would like to wish you and yours a happy and healthy holiday season!

Holiday beach badges are still available for purchase at Borough Hall. There are very limited quantities left, so if you are interested be sure to get your order in soon.

If you are looking for Harvey Cedars holiday gifts for friends or family, stop by borough hall to check out our official HC merchandise! Choose from lanterns, wine glasses, totes, hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts and more. The best part about our official merchandise is that all sales go towards funding our summer events. If you would like to shop from afar, you can check out our online store by clicking here. There are retired designs and different colors available online!

Keep an eye out for Santa on December 22nd! The High Point Volunteer Fire Company will be escorting the Big Guy around town starting at 6pm at Tidal Drive and heading south.

As we close out another year, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our community members that volunteer to make Harvey Cedars such a special place to live.

Department of Public Safety & Public Affairs – Commissioner/Deputy Mayor John M. Imperiale

On behalf of myself and Chief Burnaford we want to wish all a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year. Speaking of the holidays, be sure to look for Officers from the Harvey Cedars Police Department on Friday night December 22, as they assist our Fire Company with escorting Santa around town.

We can all be Santa and bring cheer for the holidays:  The Harvey Cedars Police Foundation and The Harvey Cedars Police Department are once again  sponsoring the “Fill A Patrol Car” Toy Drive to benefit Family Promise of the Jersey Shore, which helps families experiencing homelessness and economic hardships in Ocean County.until Dec. 8th, anyone interested can bring a new unwrapped toy for children from the ages of 3 -17 years old and bring the toys to the lobby at the Harvey Cedars Borough Hall. Any questions, please contact HC Police Foundation President Sgt. Kevin Snow at ksnow@hcpolice.org

Please join me in welcoming our newest full-time Police Officer to the HCPD. Officer John Tirella joined our department on December 1st following a recent retirement at the HCPD. Officer Tirella comes to us from the Ship Bottom Police Department where he served as a Class 2 Officer. Officer Tirella holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Stockton University, is an Eagle Scout and former competitive swimmer. He brings with him great communication skills, a teamwork mindset and the willingness to learn. These traits and many others will allow him to excel as a great Harvey Cedars Police Officer.

"LET-IT-GROW” aka “No Shave NOVEMBER” is over and I want to thank all the officers and others who participated, and especially thank those who made generous donations to "David's Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation” or their own favorite charity. Team HCPD alone raised over a thousand dollars this month!

Another reminder: If you are going to be away at all, register for the HCPD Winter House Registration Program. Property owners can register online (www.hcpolice.org) or fill out this form and email it to dtilton@hcpolice.org.
