Opening Night - Just 1 day away!
Notes from our Dress Rehearsal of Love Loss and What I Wore

Bill Benzie and I (Linda Gerdes - Director of "Love, Loss and What I Wore") are frantically trying to set the microphones, slide show on the computer and music cues.  We’ve set up our small set and it's time for our dress rehearsal!  It’s Bill’s first time seeing the show and I’m anxious to find out what he thinks.  We only have 2 people in the dress rehearsal audience tonight and they are both men!  Will they find this “Woman’s” Show entertaining? I need not have worried.  They are both laughing out loud and report “The Show is Great!”.

Iron Mountain has been trying for almost 10 years to bring Love Loss and What I Wore to our community and tomorrow it finally arrives!!!! This hit show ran almost 3 years at the Westside Theater in  NYC.   "Enthralling! You'll have such a good time," raves WOR's Joan Hamburg, while syndicated columnist Liz Smith simply states, "This is an evening that goes directly to the heart, soul and vanity of every woman, young or old."

Women’s love/hate relationship with their clothes (and the bodies underneath) is what it’s all about. This includes prom dresses,  the agony of buying bras,  Madonna, weight wars, dressing room disasters, why we wear black ,the fear and loathing of purses, and enough mother issues to give Freud a run for his money.

Five women play 28 characters.  Their performances are conversational, it's as if you’re hanging around with friends who’ve dropped their guard!  Starring Laura Jacobson, Kristie McClain, Rosemarie McKiernan, Patty Sullivan, and Lisa Serafino, the play includes some hilarious vignettes - finding the perfect wedding dress, choosing between the sexy heels and the boring, comfortable flats and the problems of the dressing room and the closet.  But humor alternates with heartbreak - cancer, body shaming, divorce.  The stories on stage are sure to unlock a horde of memories in the audience!

Go, just go, dressed as you are - you don’t even have to wear black to enjoy the show!
