Dear Municipal Clerks:

The MCANJ Executive Board knows many of you are now navigating through unchartered waters with the implementation of Daniels Law that went into effect earlier this month and many of you have a lot of questions and want answers/help. The Conference Committee and the MCANJ Executive Board have been working very hard behind the scenes for this year’s conference and will be having Christine Campbell, Director, Office of Information Privacy present along with CSI Technology Group who designed the online platform portal for redactors to discuss the roll out and will be holding a Q/A for Municipal Clerks. This session will be on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 1:30 PM at the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City. We understand that multiple Municipal/County Clerk Associations along with other various Municipal Associations have been reaching out to the Office of Information Privacy asking for someone to come to one of their meetings within the next month or two to discuss Daniels Law. The Director has spoken to one of our Executive Board members last week and it was decided that due to the overwhelming amount of speaking engagement requests that Director Campbell is getting, that Director Campbell will be focusing on the MCANJ Conference Session on March 22nd to speak to as many Municipal Clerks in one location as possible so that she is not spreading herself thin across the State and not able to make herself available in her office. The MCANJ Executive Board would appreciate if everyone can give Director Campbell the respect she deserves and permit her to address our Association in one forum to make her position with the Office of Information Privacy easier during the implementation of this law.

We thank you for your understanding as we work with Director Campbell and help her during this implementation.  - MCANJ Executive Board
