On Monday, May 17th the Governor signed an Executive Order eliminating the outdoor mask
mandate altogether in settings open to the public. Additionally, there are no longer
limits on outdoor gatherings. This news comes in time for proms, graduations, and Summer
2021!
While many other states have lifted mask mandates as a result of the updated CDC guidance,
Governor Murphy reaffirmed on the 17th that NJ will keep the mask mandate in place in
public settings for the time being. We will continue to update you as more information
becomes available.
Last summer, our Recreation Department, Police Department, Fire Department, First Aid
Squad, Department of Public Works, and Office of Emergency Management came together to
make our July 4th activities a success, and this year will be no different!
This year, we will kick-off July 4th weekend with the Township’s 2nd annual public
fireworks show at Mosle Field on Friday, July 2nd. Entertainment and Activities will take
place from 6:30pm - 10:00pm. The gates will open at 6:30pm. The fireworks will be set-off
from behind the baseball diamond and, to ensure safety, there will be a 350-400 ft fallout
area. All attendees will be seated on the football field.
Like last year, this event is free to the public. If you or your business would like to

We will conclude our Township celebrations on Sunday, July 4th with a drive-by parade. The
parade will start at 9:05am at Union Schoolhouse Road and end at the Mendham Township
Elementary School. If you or an organization you are a part of would like to be part of
the parade, please email me at sneibart(a)mendhamtownship.org.
Have a good weekend,
Sarah Neibart
