Community Outreach

In the coming days, Mendham Township wants to provide outreach to elderly residents in our community, particularly those living alone. Foremost, we want to help make sure they are staying home, eating well, resting and have support in the coming weeks.

How You Can Help

If you have an elderly neighbor, please consider checking in with them, by telephone or e-mail. (NOTE: In-person visits are not recommended.) Ask them if they have a supply of medications, enough food and transportation, if they need to see a doctor or have another critical appointment. Make sure they are aware of current guidance for limiting travel and participation in large group activities. Finally, ask if they have a nearby relative, friend or a caregiver whom can provide ongoing care.

Please send an e-mail to outreach@mendhamtownship.org with the name, telephone number, e-mail and home address of residents whom should be added to the Township’s outreach list. If you sense that a resident needs immediate medical and/or emergency care, please contact 911.

Seniors and caregivers can contact the state Aging & Disability Resource Connection (https://www.adrcnj.org/) from Monday-Friday, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., for support and information at 1-800-564-4656. They can also e-mail questions to the Township at outreach@mendhamtownship.org.
