In New Jersey, the Delta Variant now represents 100% of variants circulating. Given how
transmissible the Delta Variant is, increasing the number of complete COVID-19 primary
vaccination courses administered and boosters shots are going to be vital in reducing the
spread of COVID-19 in the coming months.
Last week, the NJ Department of Health Commissioner announced that as of October 17th,
there were 545 adults hospitalized for COVID-19 in NJ, 78% of them were not fully
vaccinated. While no vaccine works 100% of the time, COVID-19 vaccines continue to remain
highly effective in protecting people against COVID-19 hospitalization and death.
The below data was pulled from the NJ’s COVID-19
Dashboard<https://covid19.nj.gov/forms/datadashboard>rd>. The chart shows Mendham

As we prepare for the holidays, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released
its 2021 Holiday Celebration
Guidance<https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/hol…ml>,
which emphasizes the importance of being vaccinated in advance of the holiday season. The
CDC recommends that those who aren’t fully vaccinated delay their travel plans until
becoming fully vaccinated.
To facilitate vaccination efforts, Mendham Township, the Mendham Township School District,
and the Morris County Department of Health are in the process of planning a number of
vaccination clinics in the Township for primary vaccination courses and booster doses.
In the meantime, a complete list of NJ’s vaccination centers is available online at
covid19.nj.gov/pages/finder<https://covid19.nj.gov/pages/finder> or by calling

Have a great week, and take care!
