REMINDER! The deadline to renew your MCANJ membership for the 2024-2025 year is quickly approaching. If you are paying via check please make sure you or your municipality send in the check to MCANJ Treasurer by no later than October 1st. All members who have not renewed their membership or those who we have not received payment for, will no longer have access to the MCANJ website and will no longer receive MCANJ email blasts after October 1st. Nominations are now being accepted for the 2024-2025 Clerk of the Year and the Harold Weiner Mentor award! Clerk of the Year Nomination CRITERIA TO BE NOMINATED: A County Association or an individual Clerk may nominate a candidate for Municipal Clerk of the Year. Previous honorees are those individuals who have made positive contributions to our profession for the benefit of all of us. The Association invites you to submit the name of a Municipal Clerk who has had an impact on our profession and who should be considered for this prestigious honor. All nominees must be members of the Municipal Clerks’ Association of NJ, Inc., currently employed as Municipal Clerks and tenured in their positions. Current members of the Executive Board and former recipients of the award are not eligible. Qualifications must include activities within the MCANJ and may include related community and volunteer work. The selection of the annual “Municipal Clerk of the Year” is made by the Executive Board and announced at the Association’s Annual Meeting held during the Association’s Annual Education Conference held each spring. REMINDER! REGISTER OR RENEW FOR THE LEGAL DEFENSE FUND

Municipal Clerks’ Association of New Jersey Legal Defense Fund The Legal Defense Fund was established by the Municipal Clerks’ Association to financially assist Municipal Clerks when actions have been taken against them in the performance of their duties. The Legal Defense Fund application for FY2025 is now open to members of MCANJ. Initial Dues are $75 for the year and renewals are $25 for each subsequent year. Use your 4-digit Membership ID and password to log into the application. Once you complete the application, you will get confirmation of your membership. If paying by check, please mail a copy of the invoice with your check. Please make sure you mail the invoice and check to the Treasurer at the address listed on the invoice as the address changed from last year. Payment is due by November 1, 2024. If your payment is not received by that date, you will be deleted from the system and have to join as a new member. Thank you!
