Good afternoon All-
Unfortunately we all have had to return to our offices today after a nice four day
weekend.
I just wanted to send out an email blast to you all since many if not all of you have
received numerous emails last week from the NJ Division of Alcohol Beverage Control
pertaining to the following:
“Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:17B-237.1, certain licensed establishments are required to post
prescribed human trafficking public awareness signs, in English and Spanish, in places
that are clearly conspicuous and visible to employees and the public. The following
license holders are subject to the law: Plenary ("33") and Seasonal
("34") Retail Consumption Licensees; Plenary Retail Consumption with Broad
Package Privilege Licensees ("32"); Hotel/Motel Licensees ("36");
Special Concessionaire Permittees ("14"); Club Licensees ("31"); and
Retail Transit Licensees ("13").
The Division has issued an Advisory Notice (AN
2024-09<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a…)
(in which a link to the two signs is provided) on this requirement. Licensees are
responsible for downloading the signs. The Division intends to promulgate regulations
requiring the posting of these signs.”
Please be advised that there is nothing for the Municipal Clerks to do on our end
pertaining to this matter. All licensees that are responsible for posting these signs have
been informed by the NJ Division of Alcohol Beverage Control as well. The email blast from
the NJ Division of Alcohol Beverage Control that went out to all the Municipal Clerks was
just for informational purposes and nothing more. There is nothing required of you to do.
Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving with your loved ones!!
Sincerely,
Michele
