Tomorrow - Tuesday, June 8th, is New Jersey’s Primary Election.
Polls are open from 6:00am - 8:00pm. Unlike last year, when the state’s primary and general elections were mostly “mail-in” due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year you can vote in person at voting machines. Mendham Township’s<http://www.mendhamtownship.org/cn/webpage.cfm?TID=77&TPID=10815> two polling locations are the Emergency Services Building in Brookside and the Ralston Firehouse.
To find your polling location, click here: https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/polling-place-search.
If you received a Vote-By-Mail ballot in the mail but haven’t sent it in yet, it will be counted as long as it’s postmarked by 8:00pm Tuesday. If you choose not to mail in your Vote-By-Mail ballot, you may instead drop your ballot at one of the secure drop boxes<https://nj.gov/state/elections/vote-secure-drop-boxes.shtml> throughout Morris County. To drop off a Vote-By-Mail ballot, it must be in the sealed envelope provided and the voter certification must be attached. The drop boxes will be closed at 8:00pm tomorrow (Tuesday).
The closest dropbox for Mendham Township residents is at the Mendham Borough Police Station<https://www.morriscountynj.gov/Venues/Mendham-Boro-Ballot-Drop-Box>, 3 Cold Hill Road South. This dropbox is outside and under surveillance 24/7. This dropbox resembles a USPS Blue Mailbox, but is Red, White & Blue and displays “Morris County – Official Ballot Drop Box”.
In many states, you have to be a registered Democrat or Republican to vote in a primary. But New Jersey has a semi-closed primary, which means unaffiliated voters can cast ballots.
If you’re a registered unaffiliated voter, you can simply walk into your polling station tomorrow and ask for a Democratic or Republican primary ballot. You will then be registered under that party. According to the Division of Elections,<https://nj.gov/state/elections/index.shtml> you can return to unaffiliated status after the primary by re-registering as an unaffiliated voter.
If you haven’t registered to vote yet, you’re too late for this year’s primary. The deadline to register to vote for the November 2, 2021, general election is October 12, 2021.
Good afternoon,
Tonight’s (6/7) Special Township Committee Meeting has been cancelled.
The next Township Committee Meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 14, 2021.

Vaccination percentages are rising among all age groups in New Jersey.
On June 2nd, Morris County<https://www.morriscountynj.gov/Morris-County-News/Morris-County-Hits-State-…> was the first county in New Jersey to fully vaccinate 70% of its adult residents. Data<https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view> from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also indicate that Morris County’s COVID-19 vaccination efforts are also leading the state in fully vaccinating residents of all age groups.
In Mendham Township, we have been making a concerted effort to provide access to information, appointments, and transportation for residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. In that spirit, we are excited to announce that the Mendham Township School District is hosting a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic for anyone ages 12 or above at the Mendham Township Middle School on Thursday, June 10th with the second dose scheduled for July 1st.
Pfizer's COVID-19 Vaccine will be administered at this clinic. Appointments are available from 3:30pm - 7:30pm. When registering, your June 10th appointment will be the same time of day as your July 1st appointment time. Since this partnership is with Walgreens, if July 1st does not work for your second appointment, Walgreens will work with you to find an alternative site and date for you to receive your second dose.
Attached to this email are the registration forms. Please bring a valid photo ID and copy of your health insurance card to the appointment. If you do not have health insurance, you can still receive the vaccine with no charge. Masks and social distancing are required at the vaccination site. Registration closes on June 9th at 5:00pm.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need assistance with any part of the process.
Have a great weekend and take care,
