Dear Members, As we celebrate 100 years of serving New Jersey's Municipal and Deputy Clerks, we're excited to continue our tradition of education, collaboration, and professional excellence! Our Association is a longstanding, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Municipal and Deputy Clerks grow, connect, and succeed. Through continuing education, we empower our members with the knowledge and resources they need to excel in their roles while promoting consistent, high-quality municipal practices throughout New Jersey. To help make this possible, we're raising funds to support our annual educational conference, presented in partnership with Rutgers University. The 2027 Conference, taking place April 12–15, 2027 at Resorts Casino, is one of the highlights of the year—bringing together clerks from across the state for inspiring educational sessions, valuable networking opportunities, an exciting vendor expo, committee meetings, and the celebration of outstanding achievements through our annual awards. None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our members and friends. ABC Issues Advisory Notice 2026-10 Regarding the Penny

The Division of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) issued an advisory notice regarding sales costs for alcoholic beverages. In November 2025, the U.S Mint stopped production of the penny. Consequently, ABC received inquiries about whether licensees may round sales prices, since the penny is no longer in production and in short supply. ABC will allow the adjustment of a sales price up or down if it does not decrease the “cost” of an alcoholic beverage as defined by N.J.A.C. 13:2–2. Legal Defense Fund Membership

Municipal Clerks’ Association of New Jersey Legal Defense Fund The Legal Defense Fund was established by the Municipal Clerks’ Association to financially assist Municipal Clerks when actions have been taken against them in the performance of their duties. ‼️Important‼️ You must renew your MCANJ Annual Membership and pay your membership dues before you can join or renew with the Legal Defense Fund. The Legal Defense Fund application for FY 2027 is now open to members of MCANJ. Initial Dues are $75 for the year and renewals are $25 for each subsequent year. The application for LDF membership can be found on our website – NJClerks.org.<https://www.njclerks.org/cn/webforms/form.cfm?FormID=164&tpid=18590&uuid=0D…> Use your 4-digit Membership ID and password you obtained when you renewed your MCANJ membership to log into the application. Once you complete the application, you will get confirmation of your membership. Credit card payments are accepted. If paying by check, please mail a copy of the invoice with your check. Please remember that your payment is due by November 1, 2026. If your payment is not received by that date, you will be deleted from the system and have to join as a new member. Thank you!
