The Division of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) issued an advisory notice regarding sales
costs for alcoholic beverages. In November 2025, the U.S Mint stopped production of the
penny. Consequently, ABC received inquiries about whether licensees may round sales
prices, since the penny is no longer in production and in short supply. ABC will allow the
adjustment of a sales price up or down if it does not decrease the “cost” of an alcoholic
beverage as defined by N.J.A.C. 13:2–2.
